Allegheny Power and Baltimore Gas & Electric (BGE) provide service in small areas of Montgomery County.

Washington Gas Co. supplies natural gas in parts of the county, as does Allegheny Power and BGE.

Verizon is the “incumbent” local telephone service in the Washington, D.C., region.

Comcast is the main provider of cable television services for the county. A joint venture involving Pepco and Residential Communications Network also sells cable TV, phone and Internet access packages in parts of the county.

Water and sewer service in Montgomery County is provided by the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission.
