Growing up, I was obsessed with writing short stories and being my fourth-grade class’ most prestigious (and only) news reporter by self-publishing a weekly class newsletter. Top that off with gleaming over fire engines and wailing police cruisers, and we come to today, where I’m The Gazette’s reporter on all things crime and public safety in Prince George’s. I also cover general assignment stories for the northern county communities of College Park, Berwyn Heights and University Park. Previously, I was a staff reporter for The Advocate of Carroll County, a weekly sister publication for the Carroll County Times. In 2011, I received my bachelor’s degree in mass communication - journalism and new media from Towson University, where I was the editor-in-chief of the award-winning independent college newspaper The Towerlight.
