Iíll never be good enough! Iím just not smart, so why even try? Iíll never fit in. He/she will never like me! Iím not strong and fast enough to be on the team. Why do I feel so awkward? Sometimes I just hate my life! Will I ever measure up? Nobody will ever really love me. I feel so alone!
If youíve ever had any of these thoughts or questions run through your head, youíre not alone. Boys frequently suffer from low self-esteem, measuring themselves against those around them and the media portrayal of men. Despite what many people think, boys are very sensitive and their egos are easily damaged.
Being a teenager is hard. Growing up and dealing with insecurities, trying to fit in, learning how to become more independent and figuring out who you are is a challenging to say the least. This workshop will give you an opportunity to consider your self-concept: how it came to be and how to make changes. You will identify your strengths, who and what affects your self-concept. We will do some activities, make discoveries, and in the end, develop a plan of action to take with you.
