Woodlawn's annual needlework exhibition opens March 1. More than 500 entries will grace the rooms of the early 19th-century historic home. This year we have added a small but special exhibition entitled Needlework and the White House: A First Family Tradition. Highlighted by a rug made by First Lady Barbara Bush, the exhibition includes pieces made by first family members and holiday ornaments displayed in the White House. It will also trace the history of the needle arts in the President’s House.
