Commissioned in 1939 by Loren Pope, a journalist in Falls Church, the Pope-Leighey House was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and was among his first Usonian designs. The house was sold to the Leigheys in 1946 and given to the National Trust during the expansion of interstate 66 to preserve the special house, at which time it was relocated to nearby Woodlawn. Tours of the house are offered every 30 minutes Fridays to Mondays.
