Verdi's grand finale, "Falstaff" has long been admired for its outstanding orchestration and brilliant libretto, which is based on Shakespeare's "The Merry Wives of Windsor" and "Henry IV." Falstaff loves the ladies, but they don't love him back. After a night of drinking and bragging about the women he has romanced over the years, the lecherous and corpulent knight attempts to woo two ladies at the same time. However, his seduction plans backfire when the clever women try to outwit the old rascal.
