On Thursday, March 13, 2013, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) National Capital Region (NCR) will provide the public with an opportunity to purchase used furniture, electronics, and office supplies that federal agencies no longer need. This week's sale will be open from 8:00am - 12:00pm ET and items will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.
"GSA works to deliver better value and savings by efficiently disposing of the government's supplies that federal agencies no longer need," said Julia E. Hudson, Regional Administrator for GSA's National Capital Region. "Not only do these sales yield the greatest return on taxpayer dollars, but they provide the public with unbeatable prices for furniture and computer equipment. It's a win-win for all."
GSAs regional office hosts the sale at its Surplus Sales Center in Springfield, Va., every second and fourth Thursday of each month. Members of the general public can purchase furniture, laptops, CPUs, monitors, televisions, printers, and file cabinets. Buyers must be 18 years of age or older. Payment and removal of property is due on the day of sale by cash, checks, credit cards.
The public can find more information by contacting the NCR Surplus Sales office at (703) 605-9341 or visit www.surplussales.gsa.gov and click on DC Metro.
