Take a journey back in time to meet the Reverend Josiah Henson whose extraordinary life inspired Harriet Beecher Stowe's landmark novel, Uncle Tom's Cabin. Montgomery Parks staff retrace his steps from enslavement on the Isaac Riley plantation in Rockville to freedom. Historical and archaeological findings reveal what the county was like during his lifetime. Hear about plans to convert the site and historic buildings to a public historic/cultural park and house museum.
