An Opera with Irv Nurik program. Here is the 2009 performance at the Metropolitan Opera starring Teresa Stratas and Josè Carreras. The setting is Paris around 1830. The characters include: Rodolfo, a poet; Mimi, a seamstress; Marcello, a painter; Musetta, a singer; Schaunard, a musician; Colline, a philosopher; Benoît, their landlord; Alcindora, a state councilor; Parpignol, a toy vendor; and a customs sergeant.
