About 225 Maryland Dream Act supporters gathered at Bethel World Outreach Center and marched to the Silver Spring Civic Building, an early voting location, on Oct. 27 to show their support for the piece of legislation, said Alisa Glassman, lead organizer of Maryland Industrial Areas Foundation — a network of 85 congregations, schools and community groups that organize for change.

She said the group chanted “We shall vote for 4!” and educated Marylanders about the issue up for referendum, as Question 4 in the Nov. 7 election. The Dream Act would allow undocumented immigrants access to in-state tuition rates at public schools of higher education in Maryland.
